The Kullu Valley is mentioned in the legendary epic Mahabharata. The “Golden Bucket” (7 stars of the Big Dipper) constantly walks here, and the mountains rising to the sky are considered the original abode of the gods. It was on this land that the Aryan sages - rishis - learned divine wisdom, and this is where their laws came from. Krishna himself visited these places. The paths of his assistants, the legendary Pandava brothers, passed here. Naggar, currently a small village in the Kullu valley, was formerly the capital of the Kullu Rajas (XIII century). Here are preserved: the palace of the Rajas - a unique monument of Himalayan architecture, Hindu temples of the 11th century dedicated to Shiva and Parvati, the extraordinary beauty of the wooden temple of Tripura Sundri and the Krishna temple, from where a magnificent view of the Kullu valley opens. Ancient temples surrounded by centuries-old spruce and cedar trees, the legends of these places, the peace and quiet reigning here will remain in the memory for a long time. In Naggar there is the estate of the family of the great Russian artist, philosopher and public figure N.K. Roerich and a collection of paintings by N.K. and S.N. Roerichov.
